The German EmpireThe German states never had colonies in the New World, but they did send plenty of settlers over seas. This fact is reflected in the German's unique villager unit, the Settler Wagon. This Settler brings a donkey-pulled cart with him everywhere he goes. Settler Wagons can only be shipped from the Home City, but can be sent infinite times. They have higher hit points and gather much faster than normal Settlers.
The Germans' unique attribute is their ability to ship extra Uhlan cavalry when using most cards. Most cards will tell the player that they are getting an extra two or three Uhlans, or it might tell them that they are getting something else to make up for it. The Uhlan cavalry is a light mounted unit that sacrifices hit points for a higher damage. They can also be trained in the Stable, along with the War Wagon. The War Wagon is a sort of artillery unit inside a horse-puled wagon, although it is designated as cavalry. It works similarly to the Korean War Wagons from Age of Kings. The Germans also can train Dopplesoldners from their Barracks. These expensive warriors wield a two-handed sword and deal splash damage around them.
Berlin, the German Home Town, is best known for its large variety of mercenary units. Every mercenary except the Asian ones is available to the Germans, and they even have improvements that reduce their cost to nothing. Their gathering rate cards and military cards are decent, but the rest doesn't too good in comparison.
